Superintendent Gaynor describes Sligo murder as ‘Callous act’



 

A local Garda Superintendent has described the murder of Natalia Karaczyn as a callous act.

 

35-year-old Rafal Karaczyn was found guilty of murder yesterday following a trial at the Central Criminal Court in Dublin.

 

A jury convicted him after two days of deliberations.

 

He was sentenced to the mandatory term of life imprisonment.

 

Superintendent Mandy Gaynor of Sligo Garda Station spoke after the verdict was delivered

She said ‘it is hoped the verdict goes someway to bringing closure to the family’

 

Superintendent Gaynor thanked the Eastern European community in Sligo, the businesses and residents of Sligo who provided vital CCTV evidence to the Gardai.
