Continued disruption to services at Sligo University Hospital

There will be continued disruption to services at Sligo University Hospital this week.

Management at the hospital are also advising that some telephone lines are down which is causing issues for people trying to get in contact.

All outpatient clinics, excluding maternity, are cancelled, all diagnostics including x-ray, CT scans, MRI appointments, cardiac investigations, endoscopy and all elective inpatient and day case procedures are cancelled.

Patients are advised to expect significant delays in the emergency department as all computers remain down following the ransomware attack on the HSE’s IT network.

Those not in an emergency situation are asked to contact their GP or GP Out of Hours Service before attending the hospital.

Hospital Manager, Grainne McCann, tells OceanFM News that those with previous appointments should only attend if contacted directly by the hospital.

Grainne is thanking people for their continued support and hopes things will slowly begin to get better in the coming weeks.
