Non-essential retail about to open in north west



Queues are forming outside shops across the country as non-essential retail is allowed to open for the first time this year.

 

The latest easing of Covid-19 restrictions is allowing customers without an appointment to go into a store.

 

Local businesses are ready to welcome back customers for the first time in months today.

 

Non- essential retail can resume trading from today as part of the governments reopening plan.

 

Chairperson of the Sligo Business Improvement District, Finbarr Filan, is asking customers to be patient with retailers as many shops haven’t been open since Christmas.

 

Speaking to OceanFM News, he says things may be ‘a little rusty.’
