‘Solidarity With Palestine’ protest taking place in Sligo today

A protest against Israeli military actions on Palestine is taking place in Sligo today.

‘Solidarity With Palestine’ is happening at Sligo Town Hall with organisers in a social media post asking people to wear masks and socially distance.

Heightened tensions between Israel and Palestine in recent weeks have led to back and forth exchanges with a significant loss of life.

Peadar Hopkins, a member of United Against Racism is taking part in today’s protest and says around 16 such events are taking place across the country today.

Speaking to OceanFM News, he explains his reasons for attending.
