A Leitrim Councillor has moved to ease the fears and concerns that many people may have in relation to septic Tank inspections.
Inspections are resuming again in all local Municipal Districts in the coming weeks.
As part of the inspection, treatment systems will be examined to ensure that they are not posing a risk to human health or the environment through leakage or discharges to the surface of the ground or into nearby ditches.
Checks will also be carried out to ensure all grey water is connected to the treatment system.
In addition the inspection will check that roof and surface water are diverted away from system.
Cllr Padraig Fallon that regardless of the results of the inspection there will be options available for householders
