Local retail, various services reopen

Haircuts and shopping appointments are in full swing following a major easing of restrictions this morning.

For the first time this year, people can travel between counties and are allowed to have visitors in their garden.

Retailers have reopened for click and collect and by appointment, while galleries, museums and libraries can also welcome visitors back.

Ali Al Mosawi, of The Prince Barbers in the Wine Street Car Park in Sligo town, says he’s looking forward to seeing all their clients again.

But he pointed out that, for now, they are operating on the basis of appointments only.
