North west MEP says vaccine certificate will allow travel across the bloc

A proposed Covid 19 vaccination certificate should facilitate freedom of movement without discrimination.

Midlands North West MEP, Maria Walsh says the cert would provide 3 options to travellers with only one being required; prove they have received a Covid-19 vaccine, a negative PCR test or they have had the virus within a certain period of time.

The aim is to allow people to travel across the EU with hopes of stimulating the tourism and hospitality industry.

The European Parliament says holders of the certs shouldn’t be subject to additional travel restrictions, such as quarantine, self-isolation or testing.

MEP Maria Walsh says it’s similar to required information when travelling to the likes of India or South Africa long before the pandemic.
