A children’s book on the Traveller language entitled ‘Can’t lose Cant’ is to be republished and launched this Thursday.
A panel discussion exploring the one-of-a kind-book and how important it is to keep the Cant language alive in the Traveller community will be held online with Senator Eileen Flynn and Sligo Traveller Support Group.
It will also discuss how there is a need for more inclusive education in schools.
Sligo based ‘Kids Own Publishing Partnership’, is issuing the reprint after it was first published in 2003.
Jo Holmwood, Creative Director with Kids Own Publishing, says it proved to be a very popular book when it was first published.
