A Sligo Councillor has welcomed the decision by the Government that proceeds gained from criminal activities will now be put back into the community.
Minister for Justice, Helen McEntee and Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform, Michael McGrath have announced the Community Safety Innovation Fund.
Independent Councillors around the country submitted motions to their local authority calling for such a scheme to be implemented.
Councillor Marie Casserly was one of those councillors.
