HSE increase Covid testing in Donegal & Leitrim amid concerns of virius spreading

A pop up Covid-19 testing centre in Drumshanbo will be operational from tomorrow (Friday)

The centre is being set up by the HSE and will run over the weekend after a number of cases of Covid-19 were detected in Drumshanbo and the surrounding areas recently.

The HSE say the testing centre is for people who do not have symptoms but have a concern.

A spokesperson for the HSE has confirmed that the centre which is situated in the Mayflower community centre is being setup after a number of events which attracted gatherings including a religious gathering which is being investigated by An Garda Síochána.

The HSE has confirmed today that the existing testing centre in Letterkenny will also be available for walk in tests.

Dr Anthony Breslin is director of public health in the North West.
