Preparatory work is now underway for another major road project in County Sligo.
This time it’s for long-awaited improvements to the N16 from Sligo town, commonly known as the Manorhamilton road.
The current preparatory works are taking place for two-and-a-half kilometres between the Drum Road junction and the road to Glencar.
It’s hoped actual work on the new road will start next year.
Engineer Emer Concannon, of the Sligo National Roads Project Office, has been telling Ocean FM News what the current works involve.
