A Dromahair GP has eased to move any fears in the north Leitrim area when it comes to the number of Covid-19 cases.
The 14 day incidence rate figures for the last two weeks indicated that there were more cases in the Manorhamilton Electoral than the rest of the County.
The Manorhamilton area also recorded the highest percentage figure when it came to the number of infections per 100,000 of population of all the 5 local electoral areas in this region last week.
Dr Gerry Ballantyne is a GP in Dromahair, he says the nature of the UK variant of Covid-19 is hugely transmittable and any outbreaks in urban settings situated in rural areas will drive up percentage figures.
