Donegal GP says falling covid numbers is down to vaccination process

A Donegal GP says the falling number of Covid-19 figures is proof that the vaccination process is working.

The number of patients with Covid-19 in public hospitals has reached its lowest point in 111 days, with 209 people receiving treatment last night.

It comes as NPHET urges people to continue to keep their contacts down to stop the spread of Covid-19.

The Deputy Chief Medical Officer says he “never, ever” wants to have to recommend lockdown measures to Government again.

Chair of the Irish Medical Organisation’s GP committee, Donegal GP Dr Denis McCauley says it’s clear the vaccination programme is working.
