It’s expected that holding facilities will soon be available in Manorhamilton Garda Station.
At present anybody being detained has to be brought to Garda stations in Carrick-on-Shannon and Ballymote.
A recent meeting of the joint policing commission in Leitrim. Cllr Sean McDermott raised concerns with Manorhamilton being the main station in north Leitrim it was vital that such facilities would be in place.
The Fine Gael councillor says he was informed that holding facilities will be available in Manorhamilton Garda station after the Covid pandemic ends.
