The Final Whistle podcast 25/03/2021

After a year of Covid, restrictions, no crowds at matches and little or no face-to-face fundraising options, just how did Sligo Rovers managed to record a surplus of 134,000 euros? Club Treasurer David Rowe will provide some insight.

Jesse Devers has left Sligo Rovers to concentrate on his hairstyling business . But he has set himself a more immediate goal as well – to help raise cash for First Light – a support group for suddenly-bereaved parents and families. We find out more.

And the man trying to plot Sligo Rovers downfall this Friday night at the RSC is former Ireland international Kevin Sheedy. He’s the new Waterford boss.

Also – did you hear about Sligo’s winner at Cheltenham last week? We’ll speak to the horse’s Tubbercurry owners.

And the women’s national league begins in soccer this weekend. There’s plenty of local interest in Athlone Town this season. WE hear from one of their new signings – Manorhamilton’s Muireann Devaney.

The Final Whistle is broadcast every Thursday on Ocean FM from 8-9pm.
