All Island approach needed in vaccination delivery

A Northern Ireland Assembly member has called for ‘more joined up thinking’ and an ‘all island approach’ when it comes to providing Covid-19 vaccinations.

MLA for Fermanagh and South Tyrone Jemma Dolan has made the calls after it emerged that hundreds of people from the South were turned away from vaccination centres in the North over recent days.

In order to receive a vaccination in the north recipients must be registered with a GP in Northern Ireland and have a Health and Social Care medical number.

Jemma Dolan says with the vaccination process apparently moving more effectively in the North compared to the South an ‘all island approach’ would benefit many regions most of all the border region and the North West.
