Calls for new hazardous waste facility to be built in Sligo

A Sligo Councillor believes a new hazardous waste facility should be built in the county.

Sinn Fein Councillor, Thomas Healy says one should be built in Sligo Town as there is currently only one servicing the region based in Tubbercurry.

Hazardous waste includes items such as paint tins, pesticide/herbicides containers, aerosols or oil filters.

Speaking to OceanFM News, Councillor Healy is hopeful of a facility being built in the future.
