A meeting between Minister for Further and Higher Education, Simon Harris, and representatives of IT Sligo and St. Angela’s College will take place next week.
The meeting is scheduled for Wednesday next in relation to the possible merger of IT Sligo and St. Angela’s College as well as the potential for a Technological University in the north west.
Sligo/Leitrim Fine Gael TD and Minister of State, Frank Feighan says it would be the largest university outside of the capital, having a potential 22,000 students across all campuses.
Speaking to OceanFM News, he says the university would be a ‘gamechanger’ for the region.
