People urged not to flout restrictions this St. patrick’s Day



An infectious diseases expert says any flouting of restrictions today could undo a lot of our hard work.

It comes as a further 349 new cases of Covid-19 were reported nationally yesterday, along with 18 deaths.

19 new cases were recorded in Donegal, and less than 5 in both Sligo and Leitrim.

349 people are also being treated in hospital for the virus – up 13 in the past 24 hours; 5 of these are in Sligo and a further 5 in Letterkenny University Hospital.

As of 6.30pm yesterday evening, there was 1 ICU bed available in both hospitals.

The number of people in ICU around the country remains unchanged over the same period, at 85.
