Complaints over broadband in Donegal

A Donegal TD is criticising the rollout of the National broadband Plan in the county.

In a response to a question from Independent Deputy Thomas Pringle, the Minister for Communication, Eamon Ryan, said around 20% of premises had been surveyed in Donegal.

He went on to say that ‘about half’ will be passed and ready for connection next year, with the other half in 2023.

Thomas Pringle says those figures are ‘shocking’ and claims there is ‘very little happening’ in Donegal in relation to the rollout.

Minister Ryan, however, says the government is continuing to invest in the region and that other companies, not just the National Broadband Plan, are carrying infrastructure upgrades.
