latest 14 day rate for the north west



There has been a steady decrease in the 14 day incidence rate per 100,000 people in the north west, however, one local electoral area remains above the national average of 162.1.

The latest daily figures show 8 new cases were recorded in Sligo, 35 in Donegal and less than 5 in Leitrim.

The 14 day rate, accurate as of the 8th of March, shows the Sligo/Strandhill local electoral area has a rate of 94.7, Sligo/Drumcliffe is on 39.6 and Ballymote/Tubbercurry is on 74.8; all noticeable decreases from two weeks ago.

The Manorhamilton local Electoral Area of Leitrim is on a rate of 64.7 while South Donegal remains above the national average, it has also decreased now on 249.1.

There has been a total of 120 cases recorded during this time in these areas.

According to HSE figures, as of 6.30pm yesterday evening, there were no critical care beds available in both Sligo and Letterkenny University Hospitals.
