Kenny urges Arch Bishops to meet with NPHET

A Sligo Leitrim TD has questioned the action taken by a group of Arch Bishops in calling on Catholics to lobby TD’s and elected public representatives to immediately lift the current cap on funerals.

Only ten people are allowed to go to them at the moment, under level 5 restrictions.

The leaders of the Catholic Church say that should be increased to 25 – like in Northern Ireland.

Sligo Leitrim TD Martin Kenny says the decisions on increasing attendances at any events is based on evidence from the likes of NPHET and he’s suggested the group of group of Arch Bishops should meet with medical professionals instead of urging their followers to lobby politicians.
