Funding allocation for new Surf Centre in Strandhill

Plans for the construction of new Surf Centre of Excellence in Strandhill in County Sligo has received a major boost with an additional grant of €321,468 from Failte Ireland.

The project had been delayed due to increased costs but this additional funding will enable the project to proceed as planned.

Chairman of the Strandhill Maritime Bord, Sligo Councillor Declan Bree, says a state-of-the-art new national surf centre can now be built in Strandhill, which is renowned worldwide as a surfers’ attraction on the Wild Atlantic Way.
