Councillor seeks survey on Sligo section of NW Cycle Trail

A Sligo councillor is calling for a survey of the Sligo section of the popular 326-kilometre North West Cycle Trail.

The sign-posted route runs along country roads through Donegal, Leitrim, Sligo, Tyrone and Fermanagh.

It’s one of the region’s most effective means of promoting appreciation of the scenic north west among visitors and locals.

North Sligo Fianna Fail Councillor Donal Gilroy is now seeking a report from the county council on what measures, if any, need to be taken to ensure that the trail is safe and suitable for use by all cyclists and also to suggest amendments to the route as required.
