Doherty claims ban on differential pricing is still on course

A Donegal TD says the government ‘hasn’t been able to stop’ his bill aimed at banning differential pricing.

Deputy Pearse Doherty says his Insurance (Restriction on Differential Pricing) Bill 2021 has been delayed by 9 months as the government await a final report from the Central Bank on the matter.

There has been widespread support for the bill with all non government party’s voting in favour in a recent Dail vote that lost 73 to 66.

Speaking to OceanFM News, Deputy Doherty says Northern Ireland will be banning the practice later this year.
