Two men arrested after Sligo drugs find


Gardaí in Sligo have seized €35,000 in suspected cocaine and cannabis herb along with a sum of cash.


The finds were made after Gardaí stopped and searched a car in Sligo yesterday morning shortly after 1a.m.


Gardaí on routine traffic patrol stopped a vehicle for minor traffic offences and carried out a search of the vehicle.


During the course of the search suspected cannabis herb with a value of €20,000 and cocaine with a value of €15,000 was seized.


A flick knife, knuckle duster and small quantity of cash were also seized.


Two men, one in his late 20’s and another in his early 30’s were arrested at the scene and are currently detained at Ballymote Garda Station under the provisions of Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.
