Gardaí in Sligo are investigating an incident in which a lamb was slaughtered.
The incident took place yesterday on a farm just off the Bundoran Road in Sligo. The gardai are also treating the incident as a theft.
The remains of the lamb were discovered by a farmer yesterday morning and gardai believe the act was carried out by someone who has some expertise in butchering animals.
Gardai are appealing to the farming community to be aware, and report any suspicious activity on their lands.
