Fianna Fail TD’s unhappy with vaccination programme



Several Fianna Fail TD’s have strongly criticised the pace of the country’s vaccination programme.

 

A number of deputies shared their anger at last nights parliamentary party meeting that many over 85’s still don’t know when they’ll get their jab.

 

Dara Calleary said he had little faith in the HSE to deliver given some experiences, while Joe Flaherty said many older people have been left

 

It comes as the health service failed to hit the government’s target of administering 100,000 doses last week, with supply issues blamed.

 

 

The latest figures from the Department of Health have confirmed that there have been 25 additional cases of Covid-19 in Donegal and fewer than 5 in both Sligo and Leitrim.

 

The numbers are part of 566 new cases reported nationally yesterday.  The Health Protection Surveillance also announced 25 additional deaths from Covid-19.

 

There are 5 people being treated for Covid-19 in Sligo University Hospital with 2 in ICU.

 

There are 11 patients being treated in Letterkenny University Hospital with 1 patient in ICU.

 

439,782 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Ireland:

 

297,899 people have received their first dose

141,883 people have received their second dos
