European payment breaks not reactivated in Ireland



The government have been criticised for refusing to provide relief for mortgage holders, despite the European Regulator allowing for the reactivation of Covid-19 payment breaks since December.

 

With level 5 restrictions set to continue until at least April, the Donegal TD Padraig MacLochalin says that following the move by the European Banking Authority, the government and banks could have introduced payment breaks for the duration of the latest round of restrictions.
