No GAA intercounty matches until May

The GAA is now looking at a May start to the National League, at the very earliest, following Tuesday evening’s announcement of continued Level 5 Covid restrictions until April 5th.

As expected, there was no change to the status of sporting activity over the next six weeks.

There was some confusion arising from the government’s new Living with Covid roadmap.

The document had listed inter-county GAA alongside elite sports permissible under level-4 and level-3 restrictions.

However, the Taoiseach later clarified that current restrictions will remain in place until April 5th at the earliest.

It’s hoped inter-county training can then resume with a view to starting the Allianz Leagues in May.
