Cabinet sub-committee will consider plans to reopen the country



The Department of Health has confirmed that there has been an additional death related to COVID-19.  679 new cases of the virus have also been reported in the latest set of figures.

 

 

Locally 26 cases were announced for Donegal, less than 5 in Sligo, and none in Leitrim.

 

 

205,955 people have received their first dose of the Covid-19 vaccination while 120,520 people have received their second dose.

 

 

There are currently ten patients being treated in both Sligo and Letterkenny University Hospitals.  There is one patient in ICU in Sligo while there are two patients in ICU in Letterkenny.

 

The Cabinet sub-committee on Covid-19 will consider plans to reopen the country after the latest lockdown today.
Schools are expected to return on a phased basis from March 1st, while Level 5 restrictions are expected to be extended beyond March 5th.

679 new cases of Covid-19 have been detected here, while one more death was announced last night.

The national 14-day incidence rate of the disease is 243, which is the lowest it’s been since December 21st.
