Local Hotelier calls for ‘consumer friendly voucher’ scheme



A Donegal Hotelier has backed calls to replace the ‘Stay and Spend’ scheme which was brought in to help the Irish hospitality industry last Autumn.

Under the scheme 20 per cent of what consumers spent was returned in income-tax credits.

 

 

The Irish Tourism Industry Confederation is urging the Government to replace with “consumer friendly” vouchers.

 

 

Paul Diver owner of the Sandhouse Hotel in Rossnowlagh.  He says there were a number of reasons why the ‘stay spend scheme was unsuccessful.
