A Donegal TD has described the new benefit payment for those of 65 years of age – and are no longer working as a glorified ‘unemployment payment’.
The payment will be worth 203 euro a week and is designed to help those who have to retire at 65, but can’t get the state pension until they are 66.
Many people in this age cohort have been forced to sign on the dole.
