Feighan says there are plans to make free period products available in certain areas

Period products could be made free in state buildings such as schools and hospitals.

A new government report has found women spend an average of €121 a year on period and pain relief products, and up to 85,000 could be at risk of “period poverty”.

Frank Feighan, the minister of state for public health, says the government plans to make these products free of charge in key areas.
