Casserly shines a light

People are being encouraged to register faulty public lights around Sligo Town and County.

A motion by Independent Councillor, Marie Casserly, calling for an audit and inspection into the lighting situation, found 271 public lights around Co. Sligo require some form of maintenance.

That equates to 2.9% of all lights within the county needing repairs; 130 of the High Masts System along national roads and a further 141 within the county and town.

The company Electric Skyline supply the public lighting in both Leitrim and Sligo.

Councillor Casserly says people in both counties can register a faulty light easily on the company website.
