New format for women’s Six Nations in April

Rugby officials have announced a revised format for this year’s Women’s Six Nations Championship.

The competition was initially postponed last month because of the Covid situation – but will now happen during a three-week windon in April (3rd-24th).

Sligo’s Aoife McDermott and the Donegal duo of Laura Feely (pictured) and Larissa Muldoon are part of the extended senior Irish squad.

The Six teams are being divided into two pools of three. Ireland are in Pool B with France and Wales.

Once the pool round matches are complete, teams will face off against the corresponding ranked team from the other pool in the play-offs matches.

The pool winners will meet to decide the overall champions.

POOL A
England
Scotland
Italy

POOL B
France
Ireland
