‘Game Set & Match’ to college students after Federer prank

Remember that story about the two college students who tagged Roger Federer with their Instagram tennis video?

Ollie White from north Sligo and his college pal Jamie Duff claimed that the eight-time Wimbledon champion responded to them with a message indicating he’ll be willing to play the duo in a practice match for charity once the pandemic passes.

The story garnered lots of media attention – Ocean FM included – but it now transpires the entire tale was a hoax.

The lads, who are final year multi-media degree students in DCU, wanted to see how far their ‘fake news’ story would go.

Here’s the answer:

Fair play lads.

If this proves to be part of your final year university project, it deserves a 1:1!
