Sligo Councillors to meet with NTA on Monday

A delegation of Sligo Councillors are set to meet with the National Transport Authority on Monday next to discuss the bus service in Sligo town and county.

The meeting will take place virtually.

For some time, a number of councillors have been raising issues in relation to bus services in rural areas while a number of Sligo town councillors have been seeking an improved service in the Maugheraboy, Ballydoogan, Tracey Avenue, Larkhill and Rosehill areas.

Fianna Fail Councillor Tom MacSharry tabled motions at Council meetings in the past which called on the local authority to seek a meeting with the NTA, which is the transport licensing agency for the country.

Speaking earlier to ocean FM, Cllr. MacSharry expressed confidence that Monday’s meeting could be the first step in the provision of a better transport service for Sligo.
