Asthma Education Inclusion Project launched for Traveller Community

A new range of Asthma information and support resources from the Asthma Society of Ireland has been launched aimed at members of the Traveller, Roma and Refugee communities.

The Asthma Education Inclusion Project has been developed in partnership with a range of organisations including the HSE and Pavee Point and has made been made available to a range of culturally appropriate and literacy friendly resources and materials.

The aim of the initiative is to help improve the respiratory health of the communities and promote key message of asthma management.

Jamie Murphy from the Sligo Traveller Support Group is encouraging as many people as possible to avail of the service, as rates of people living with asthma and other respiratory illnesses are higher in the Traveller community than the general population.
