Gardai are urging all users of the newly-opened Western Distributor Road on the outskirts of Sligo town to exercise caution and care.
It’s as the new route is proving hugely popular, not only with motorists but also walkers, joggers and cyclists of all ages.
Gardai are asking motorists to observe the posted speed limits as well as being mindful of the large numbers of other road users crossing the route, particularly in the vicinity of the new Maugheraboy roundabout.
