Support needed for outdoor tourism providers

Calls will made on the government today to include outdoor tourism providers in the Covid-19 Restrictions Support Scheme.

The calls are expected to come from Leitrim Fianna Fail Councillor Justin Warnock who says many involved in this industry are small family owned businesses and that they now need urgent support.

Cllr Warnock will raise the issue at today’s Manorhamilton Municipal District meeting of Leitrim Council.

The Kinlough based Councillor says that without financial assistance many businesses will not survive the current pandemic lockdowns.

Cllr. Warnock says these adventure tourism will be vital for the region when the pandemic ends and outdoor activity providers will be needed to help attract visitors to the north west.
