More than €350,000 for 17 rural walking, cycling projects in Sligo, Leitrim



More than €350,000 in government funding has been allocated for 17 rural walking and cycling projects in Sligo and Leitrim.

The amounts from between €16,000 to €20,000 for each of the projects.

Projects in Sligo to benefit include the Queen Maeve Trail, Ben Bulben Forest Walk, the Sligo Way, the Warren Way Trail, Bunduff Lake, Dooney Rock, Coolaney River Walk and Powellsboro Bog Walk.

Leitrim projects that will be getting money include Glenfarne Woods, Glenfarne Demonstration Trail, Glencar Waterfall and Corry Strand amenity.

Sligo/Leitrim Deputy and Minister of State for Health and Well-Being Frank Feighan says the projects being supported all contribute to health and well-being.

Seven outdoor recreation projects in Donegal are to share €135,000 funding to improve trails for walking and leisure.
