Some people not aware homes may be affected by N17 proposals

Some property owners and homeowners are not yet aware that they will be affected if some of the proposed new routes for the N17 Collooney to Knock road goes ahead.

That’s according to Sinn Fein Councillor Thomas Healy who is asking people in the Collooney area to study the route option marked ‘E’.

He says that 28 people could be affected, including 21 houses, with the proposed road going through a house in one instance — if that route option is the one eventually chosen.

Cllr Healy says people can find out if their property will be impacted by logging onto a website and inputting their postal code.

People have until 5pm tomorrow, Friday, to make submissions.

Cllr Healy says that while out and about meeting people in the Collooney area, it was clear there was a lack of awareness among some people about what is being proposed.
