A Sligo/Leitrim TD says it is now taking 10 to 12 weeks to process visa applications for much-needed healthcare workers coming here from outside the EU.
Sinn Fein Deputy Martin Kenny says the applications could have been processed in 48 hours last March.
He says the delay in processing Atypical Working Visas is preventing the recruitment of staff from overseas.
