4,842 new cases of Covid-19 were confirmed on Saturday evening and nine more people with the virus have died.
That’s a big drop from Friday’s record high figure of 8,248 cases.
The country’s 14 day incidence rate is 1162.2.
1,421 coronavirus patients are in hospital, of which 120 are in ICU.
169 new cases were recorded in Donegal, 44 in Sligo and 10 in Leitrim.
