Sligo-Strandhill area has highest Covid rate in County Sligo



The Sligo/Strandhill local electoral area has had one of the highest incidences in the north west of Covid-19 cases in the past 14 days per 100,000 population.

It also had the highest number of actual cases in County Sligo.

Meanwhile, Donegal and Sligo are in the top seven counties in the country when it comes to the 14-day incidence rate per 100,000 population.

Figures released yesterday evening show there were 187 new cases yesterday in County Donegal, with 114 in Cavan, 85 in Sligo and 13 in Leitrim.

During the past 14 days, the Sligo/Strandhill area has had 175 cases, with a rate per 100,000 population of 828.2.

Sligo/Drumcliffe had 141 cases during the past fortnight, with an incidence rate per 100,000 population 797.7.

The figures for Ballymote/Tubbercurry was 164 and 613.5.

In the Manorhamilton area of Leitrim, there have been 55 cases in the past 14 days with a rate per 100,000 population of 508.3.

The Donegal electoral area has had 179 cases in the past fortnight, and a 14-day incidence rate of 675.7.
