Leitrim GAA banks on ‘January challenge’ to help ease cash worries

The prospect of no GAA supporters being allowed into club our county matches for the foreseeable future means several county boards are feeling the financial pinch at the moment – among them Leitrim.

That’s why the county’s ’50 miles in January challenge’ this month is becoming a vital event.

Organised by the Leitrim GAA Supporters Club, the ’50 miles January’ is challenging supporters friends, players and mentors past and present to walk run or jog that precise distance between now and the end of the month.

Leitrim are aiming to raise 50,000 euro through the event’s GoFundMePage. To date, almost 11,000 has been taken in.

Former Glencar/Manor and Leitrim footballer Adrian O’Flynn is one of the event organisers.
