Councillors fight on for Bundoran, Ballyshannon fire stations

South Donegal councillors have vowed to continue the fight for the provision of fire stations in both Ballyshannon and Bundoran.

Although the campaign for fire stations in both towns has been going on for decades, it has now emerged that County Donegal will not get any new fire stations under a new Fire Service Capital Programme for the next four years.

Previously, there had been a suggestion that one new fire station be provided for the area but this was rejected by councillors.

Speaking to Ocean FM News, Bundoran-based Cllr Michael McMahon says the fight goes on.
