A Sligo/Leitrim TD has called on the government to urgently announce it’s plans for schools to re-open after Christmas.
Opposition parties will meet with Ministers later today, with schools due to welcome back students next week.
Sinn Fein TD Martin Kenny says it’s hard to see how schools can open safely, given the spiralling cases of Covid 19.
He says clarity is required immediately with many parents so concerned that they are contemplating taking children out of school due to fears over new variant of the Covid-19 virus.
