€1m funding for new fire station in Manorhamilton



A funding allocation of €1m has been approved  for the construction of a new Fire Station for Manorhamilton has been approved.

The Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage, Darragh O’Brien has  included the North Leitrim fire station as part of an overall package of €61 million Fire Service Capital Programme.

A total of €27.7 million has been allocated for fire appliances which will be delivered in two tranches.

 

In the first tranche, 35 new appliances will be provided at an approximate cost of almost €16 million one of which was allocated to the Leitrim Co Council fleet of appliances.

 

Local TD and Minister for State, Frank Feighan says work on the new station should start in early 2021

 

 

€30,000  has been announced towards the upgrade of Boyle Fire Station in today’s funding.
